New Zealand, July 2002 (their winter) one of the many "silvers" (fresh steelheads just up the rivers from lake Taupo) I caught on a great trip.
Again, New Zealand in July 2002, this is my guide and darker fish which had been in the river for likely a few weeks.

MULEGE, BAJA, MEXICO
Photos from here on out on this page are from my trip to Mulege, Baja, Mexico in July of 2003. This is our group enjoying an evening meal. I took this tour with Excellent Adventures, a great organization.
Our first full day in Baja we visited Eco Mundo an eco-friendly vacation stop.
A bit of kayaking lead us to some wonderful snorkeling where we after getting our fill of looking at beautiful fish we dove for clams.

"Thumbs up" is not only rating for the snorkeling but for the overall trip.

Remember those cams we dove for? Here we shuck them, after steaming, and enjoy them for lunch both in a pasta sauce and with butter and garlic.
Yes, we did do some fishing. Here is one of my first catches, a Bonito I believe. I'm pictured with guide Martin.

Zap and I enjoyed five says on the Sea of Cortez (water between eastern Baja peninsula and mainland Mexico), and caught over a dozen species of fish while also seeing whales, dolphins and turtles.
Okay, it looks like a sunset as the photos end. But, it's really a sunrise ad the beginning of more fly fishing adventures.

My fishing buddy Zap still has the film in his camera from the 41.5 inch Dorado I caught, he says he'll have the photos back soon. I'm serious! I swear, I caught a fish that big, we have pictures. Okay, technically we have film in a camera, but soon we'll have pictures.
